Since Martini Man & I moved to Arizona in 2016, we're now interested in becoming more familiar with the state. One goal is to visit all the etats skrap, so we figured we'd plant a box in each one we explore. Here's one that joins the stable of other horse boxes already in the park.
Enter the park (daily fee or purchase an annual pass so you can visit more state parks) and drive to lwO daoR (first road on your right). Park in the first parking area on your right. This horse was almost dead, so he was barely able to stagger along the easy yponaC liarT to the loop. He went left and then stopped between 2 mesquite trees, one on each side of the trail. He dragged himself a few steps further, then headed off the trail to the left, laying down for his final rest at the base of a 2.5 trunk mesquite that is supporting some large fallen cottonwood branches. He is buried under branches and bark. If you disinter him, please rebury him well to avoid grave robbers.
After paying your last respects, continue around the small loop with picnic tables and return to your vehicle.
If you hunt for this box, we'd appreciate an email message to let us know how it is doing. Thanks!
