The Falconhead West Neighborhood, Falconhead Greenway (http://www.beecavetexas.com/home/showdocument?id=1041) provides over 3.5 miles of hike/bike trails to explore. Please download the map from the link; you will be glad you have it with you. And as there is a whole flock of birds in this area, being able to map them before arriving means you wont have to back track or wander right by one!

Directions:
From Hwy 620, go west 3-4 miles on Hwy 71 to Vail Divide and turn right. Make an immediate left on Rockies Run Summit and another immediate left at Patagonia Pass to Falconhead Greenway parking lot on right.

Clues:
Walk through iron fence on main Blue trail, staying left at junctions and following trail signs 1-6, to stone marker in open area. Continue along the Blue Trail which will lead you past a bench on the left & then another bench soon after that. At about 1/2 mile from the trailhead you will come to a four-way trail junction. Turn left here also & start on the Yellow Trail. Pass the Yellow Trail location marker #2 on your left & just ahead the trail dead ends (you will have just passed a sign with arrows on your left). Take the turn to the left & head up the trail 47 steps. This will put you with the Water Tower on your right & a clearing with a social trail to your left. Turn East & head down the social trail about 13 steps. The Cedar to your right is where the bag is hanging. Access is best heading around to the left to get in under the branches.

***After you turn left (just past the sign with the arrows) this part of the trail isn't on the map & seems to have been made from the neighborhood folks cutting thru to access the Falconhead trail system without having to go around to the front gate, but it as clearly marked & maintained as the 'real' trail whereas the social trail I note is not.***

Hike length: 1-2 miles
