This may be just the start of the collection of the local micro brew company collection that we are planting along this trail.

Located on Monte Sano Mountain Blvd is the Hikers parking lot. Also known as Trough Springs and Natural Well Trail head parking. The first parking lot on the right after passing Burrit Museum off of Monte Sano Blvd. This is also where the Arrowhead trail starts. Find a place to park here and your adventure starts at the kiosk in this parking lot. The Arrowhead trail starts to the left of the kiosk and as you start into the woods you want to count the Turquoise trail blazes, after the third marker you will see a short trial, on the right, with some flat stones. Look on the right side for a small tree, near its base under a small rock. No log book in this box and Red ink is recommended. (1)

Now on down the Arrowhead Trail to the first bridge and go about 12 more paces and look right for a crumbly rock near a fallen hollow log. Follow the hollow log away from the trail to a medium sized tree, look near the base with a rock on top of the box. No log book in this box and brown ink is fine for this image. (2)

Now on down the trail and count three more blazes. At the third blaze take a heading of 270 degrees (west) for 10 paces to a tree that had a rough start. (looks like a nice place to relax now) Between rock and tree. No logbook and black ink is fine here. (3)

Now on down the trail and count four more blazes. Go eight paces past the tree with the blaze. Left side has a crooked tree with big stone that has some holes in it. Look for one that has a stone on top of the box. No log book and brown & yellow ink is best (2 stamps)(4)

Now on down the trail to the next bridge and go two more blazes. Look to the left for a rock with a sharp edge (knife edge), back side under another smaller rock. No log book and red & black ink. (5)

Now on down the trail to the next bridge and go one more blaze and look left for a V tree about 6 paces off the trail. At the base. No log book and red & brown is best for this stamp image. (6)

Now on down the trail to to the half mile marker and look left for a wide bottomed tree. Near the base under a stone. No log book and black ink is fine for this one. (7)

Now on down the trail for four more trail blazes and look left for two trees that are perpendicular to the trail. Between them on the ground under duff. No log book and any ink is fine for this image. (12)

Now on down the trail three more blazes, keep going there will be a big dip in the trail and you will pass through some downed trees that have been cut through, on past this and look for a big tree that is missing the bark where the old trail blaze was :) it will be on the right side of the trail with a collection of flat rocks at its base. Look under a small white rock. No log book and Green ink is ok for this one. (9)

As you start down the trail, this time, you will need to take a new detour around a newly fallen tree. Now on down the trail to the next trail blaze for both the Mountain Mist Trail Run and the Arrowhead trail. It is by two fallen trees that have been cut through for the trail to go through. You're looking at the base of the first tree on the right after the one with the trail blazes on it. LOG BOOK (only one) and GREEN ink for this one. (10)

The trail will come to ledges that the trail goes into. As you enter straight in there will be a sharp left and a slight uphill with a couple of dead trees and a big live tree on your left. look across the trail from the live tree to the base of rock face on your right. Look in the Fractured section under an added rock. No log book and use any color you want. (13)

Now on down the trail to the one mile marker. As you stop and look to the right you can see the trail below. Take eight steps down hill to a tree with a small rock with a Devil hole in it. Under a rock next to the devil hole. No log book and red is the color you want. (11)

It is best to return to the parking lot the way you came. 2 miles roundtrip.

If you are up for adding some more distance to your hike you could go just a little way to the intersection of the Natural Well Trail and follow it to the left out to the well to see this cool site to see. We may also add more boxes in the future because we keep getting more Micro Brew Houses in our area.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
