NOTICE: LIQUID CRYSTAL IS MISSING, IT WILL HOPEFULLY RETURN SOON.

Liquid Crystal was placed on Leap Day 2004, in recognition of my daughter’s favorite pastime.

Directions:

From south bound I-5 in Olympia, take exit 105 (City Center, Port of Olympia), stay to the left and go straight thru a stoplight and tunnel to Capitol Way. Turn Right at Capitol Way and proceed to 9th Avenue and turn left. Turn right on Columbia and then left on 5th Avenue. Stay along Capital Lake by turning left onto Deschutes Parkway. Turn left into the parking lot of Marathon Park, just before the train tracks cross Deschutes Parkway. If you get to Lakeridge Drive, you have gone too far.

Note:

This box is only accessible at the times below.

Monday 10am-9pm
Tuesday 10am-9pm
Wednesday 11am-9pm
Thursday 11am-9pm
Friday 10am-5pm
Saturday 10am-5pm
Sunday 1pm-5pm

It is about a two mile round trip to the box. It’s home is very public and needs to be found and replaced very discretely. It is best to find a quite corner to stamp and then return the box to it’s “hidden” location. If the box is returned “out of order” it will draw attention from individuals who may choose to remove it.

Clues:

This box goes “by the numbers”

Start at the drinking fountain by the Restrooms.
Head down the winding sidewalk at “0”.
At the “5th” bench on your left, head to the path at “70”.
You will cross a bridge of “5” informative boards.
At “1” yellow fireplug, note a tall, black, “4” legged object with a round head at “70”. Look closely at him, he is number “35”.
Proceed on until you meet number “13” then take the path to the right just beyond where he stands.
The path ends at a street. This is Water or “200”.
Head “70” down “500”.
You will cross “3” streets including the previously mentioned “200”.
At this corner you will head “110”.
Continue until you climb some steps and find yourself at “200” & “700”.
Head “140”.
At “800”, head “60”.
Cross Franklin and on your right is a building of numbers.

Enter this building in seach of the number Five Hundred and Forty Eight.

If you are looking at the right number, you will see the “Liquid Crystal”. Open the “Crystal” carefully, you do not want to spill it’s hidden treasure.
