NOTE: 3/1/14 this letterbox is alive but in need of attention. The stamp is there along with a few small sheets of paper, triple bagged. The box has disintegrated with age and needs a new small plastic box. The old books were waterlogged and have been removed. Help!
A Funhog box has found a home at the lookout two miles from Maalaea between mile markers 8 and 9 on the way to Lahaina. Take the downhill trail near the call box, heading along the cliffs in the direction of the setting sun. When an uphill gaze reveals a white arrow in a field of green, go behind the largest red boulder to be seen. The letterbox awaits beneath a red lava cyclops.
