|Location||Borrego Springs, CA|

will not be replaced
Located in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. This box may be found at the upper end of a 4 mile wash that crosses Rt S22 about 10 miles east of Borrego Springs.
Find the USGS Azimuth marker about 25 yards short of the overlook. Standing at the marker, head 40 paces @ 305. Look under the rocks at the base of a bush.
Please be VERY Discreet. Font’s Point is a popular hiking destination.
Also – Be aware that snakes might like the box’s hiding place too.
And …finally…Understand that in the event of rain, you or your car could be inundated in a flash flood at the low end of the wash. This happened to us, and we returned to our car to find it buried up to the axles in mud, and the interior soaked. The sandy floor of the wash is not suitable for many road vehicles, and you can easily get stuck on dry days too.
