Walking distance: about 0.2 mile one way
Trail difficulty: easy, flat paved trail
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Pipe Springs National Monument in far northwest Arizona. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and monuments and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.
Go to Pipe Springs National Monument and park by the Visitor Center.
Walk through the Visitor Center and out the back door. Find the colorful interpretive sign titled “Pipe Spring National Monument”. In the top paragraph with a green background (starts with the words “Pipe Spring National …”), in the 4th line, what is the 9th word _____?
Now, walk up to the historic Pipe Springs Fort, turn left and walk a short distance to a colorful interpretive sign titled “Ridge Trail”. In the paragraph on the left just under the title (starts with the words “This loop trail …”), in the 2nd line, what is the 1st word _____?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Pipe Springs Monument Webbox.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
Click here for a list of all my national parks and monuments webboxes.
If you live in Arizona or New Mexico or have an interest in letterboxes in those states, you are invited to join the Letterboxing Southwest Discussion Group. Go here to join: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LetterboxingSouthwest/ .
Hike length: 0.5 miles
Trail difficulty: easy, flat paved trail
