Walking distance: about 0.75 mile loop trip
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, flat gravel trail.
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area in northwestern Arizona. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and monuments and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.
Go to the Temple Bar Marina area of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Park in the lot next to the now closed Ranger Station which is on the right side of the highway just before you enter Temple Bar Marina.
Find the start of the Temple View Trail. Look for the large colorful interpretive sign title “Temple View Trail”. In the paragraph on the left just under the title (starts with the words “Walk this 0.75 …”), in the 2nd line, what is the 7th word _____?
Now, start walking on the Temple View Trail. Begin to notice small boulders off the edge of the trail that have a number and petroglyph design etched on the surface. Go to number 8. After #8 look left to a brown rectangular sign along the roadway paralleling the path. What is the last word on the sign _____? (make all letters lower case)
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Lake Mead Recreation Area Webbox II.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
