1. From the bay area, head east on Highway 80. Exit at Donner Pass184.
2. At the stop sign, turn right onto Donner Pass Road and travel for approximately 1/4 mile.
3. Turn left at Northwoods Blvd. Go approximately 3.5 miles. Then turn right on Fjord Road.
4. Immediately, at the first stop sign, take a left onto Alder Creek and travel 1/4 mile until you reach the Tahoe/Donner Creek Adventure Center.
5. Park on the street outside the entrance to the Adventure Center.
6. Right behind the Adventure Center sign, there is a trail map kiosk. This marks the beginning of many trails.
7. Go down the first trail to the left of the map sign. Cross a wood-planked bridge.
8. Continue on this path for about 180 yards.
9. As you enter the pine tree area, there will be a stump that looks a little bit like a throne to the right of the trail.
10. Inside the tree trunk will be the letterbox. It's hidden!!
