Trail difficulty: dirt road, but easy
Walking distance: short distance
Stamp hand-carved
From Grand Canyon drive east on State Highway 64 outside the park; or, from Cameron drive west on State Highway 64. Between mile markers 275 and 276 turn south on dirt road “Forest Road 307” and drive a very short distance to the national forest information kiosk. Park there.
Walk up (south) the dirt road that starts from the left side of the kiosk. Walk for about 70 steps to a medium size Pine Tree on the right edge of the road. From that tree go at about 212 degrees (from mag. north) for about 20 steps to another medium size Pine (6/2022 this pine tree is dead, but standing). The box is under the back side of the tree under a flat rock covered with some twigs and plant debris. Be alert for snakes.
Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziplock bag and the book is in another ziploc, and both ziplocs are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under the flat rock and covered with some twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .
