Lucky Casino Letterbox
According to Argosy Casino's website..."You'll find excitement, entertainment and exceptional service 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.
Located on the Mississippi River in the downtown historic district, across from the convention center, you'll find casino fun for everyone."
But actually, it's the LETTERBOX hidden behind this casino that is the real fun!!
The three-deck riverboat casino features over 29,000 square feet of gaming area. This includes over 800 slots, video poker, and table games. They say that "Nothing compares with the "You Attitude" service, the selection of casino games, and the facilities Argosy offers." But I will argue and tell you that finding this letterbox is way more fun than gambling!! Plus, you won't lose any money this way!!
To find the letterbox...Facing the river, head towards the levee, with the Argosy Casino on your right hand side. You will see a small street called South Blvd., where you can head straight towards the levee. The Argosy Casino parking garage will be behind you, as you drive right up a small gravel driveway ramp that leads to the very top of the levee. Take the veer to the right of the green sign, and park your car at the top of the gravel drive.
Facing the Mississippi River, walk to the edge of the levee, but be sure not to go down the ramp to the bottom! From the top, you can stop to admire the view of the bridge and also the Port of Baton Rouge right across the river. Look to your right to find the second tree at the ledge, which is large and has a high 2x4 stuck horizontally in the crook of its branches.
The lucky letterbox is at the base of this tree, covered by pieces of concrete! You won't find money, but you will find a lucky stamp!
Watch out for bugs and snakes when reaching for the box, and be sure to recover it well, so others can be winners without gambling too!
