*** Part of my Literature Series ***
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 3K RT)
Recommended Ink: blue & black
Status: alive
Death of a Kingfisher is just one book of a series of mystery novels created by M. C. Beaton that features Hamish Macbeth, a fictional police officer who lives in the Scottish Highlands in the fictitious town of Lochdubh. I was unable to place this box in the Highlands, but it is on the scenic Yesnaby Coastal Walk on the main Orkney Island.
Directions:
Go north on A967 and B9056, then left on Yesnaby rd to car park at end by trailhead for the Coastal Walk.
Clues:
Walk north on path with ocean at your left, crossing a fence on wood steps, to another fence. Go right along it and cross on wood steps by a cove. Continue to a third fence and after crossing go left along it to the 4th post. LB is at back base under a rock.
Hike length: 1-2 miles
