REPORTED MISSING OCTOBER 2004.

Hampton Park is in northern Charleston, SC (note: not the city of “North Charleston”). It is adjacent to the Citadel. The map provided by the Charleston Visitor Center marks it clearly. Find the big round gazebo in Hampton Park. This is white with a green top, but not the small square one that is also white with a green top. Standing in the center of the gazebo, you will notice paths going in all the cardinal directions. Facing one direction you will notice the posts marking the “Mary Murray Driveway 1924.” Your path is the opposite direction. Heading down the path, look closely among the roots of the first great oak on the right. The box is buried between the roots in loose soil and leaf debris.

Be sure to check out the rest of this nice park. There is a pond, fountain, and many walking paths. Great place to have a picnic. Also check out the police horse stables behind the park.
