Directions: Take I5 to the Wilsonville Exit, #283. Head west to the first stoplight. This is Boones Ferry Road. Take a left and head south to the end of the road. On your left is Tauchman House Boone's Ferry Park. This is near the site of the ferry started by Alphonso Boone(one of Daniel Boone's grandsons) in 1847.

This box was made as a tribute to our niece who is going to be born this week. Nothing special as it is our first attempt at placing one, but we hope everyone enjoys the walk. After trekking to numerous places around the Portland metro area to find letterboxes, we decided it was time to place one in our neck of the woods.

Clues: Follow the paved path from the east end of the parking lot. It will pass a playground and a gazebo. When you come to a T intersection, turn right. Enjoy the the view for a moment and then turn around, because the box is not here.

Head up the hill to the road. Once there, look to your right and find the green sign. Follow the Boones Ferry Trail, ignoring the smell. You will pass a pile of rocks, where if you look closely, you might find a geocache. Since that is not what you are looking for, continue down the path. Dance across the bridge because you are getting close. Once you get to the BIG bridge, look under a rock near the base of the pillar, and here you will find our little treasure.

If you wish to continue to our Memorial Park series, you can return to where you started and drive, or continue to follow the path until you reach the neighborhood. Once there, take the first right, then the second left, then the first right. This will be Wilson Lane. Walk about four blocks and you will be at the starting point to the instructions for this series.

Count on about two hours for a round trip. This would include time for the kids to play on the playground, or time for the adults to rest on a bench. Both parks have picnic tables and BBQ's. Enjoy!
