Hike Time: 60-90 minutes with short breaks
Please make sure to follow all of the posted rules and notices for safety.
1. Walk through the gate at the Foothill Staging Area and locate trail marker number 1.
2. Hike up the hill on Oak Tree Trail (0.15 miles) until you see a split at trail marker number 2.
3. Continue right up the hill on Oak Tree Trail.
4. Hike up the hill on Oak Tree Trail (0.49 miles) until you see a split at trail marker number 3.
5. Continue left up the hill on Oak Tree Trail.
6. Hike up the hill on Oak Tree Trail (0.40 miles) until you reach a trail junction with a no bicycles sign just beyond the entrance. If you pass the no bicycles sign and reach trail marker number 5, you have gone too far.
7. Turn left onto the trail that connects to Woodland Trail.
8. Hike down the trail (0.10 miles) until you see a large oak tree (that has a big hole on the side of it) at the bend in the trail.
GPS Coordinates: 44° NE; 37°36'54" N 121°53'16" W; 760 feet elevation
9. The tree is helping to hide the letterbox!
When found, stamp our logbook with your stamp and/or sign your name and include the date.
Hide the letterbox in the same location for the next group to find.
You can return to the Foothill Staging Area by going back the way that you came, or
Continue down Woodland Trail (0.87 miles) to trail marker number 2.
Then continue down to the hill to trail marker number 1 at the Foothill Staging Area.
