Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: About 1 mile round trip

Nice hike up San Gabriel river to Leander Dinosaur tracks. Hike is along bed of river, so if heavy rain this is not going to be a good hike. Tracks are not marked. Someone had added water to them, thus they stood out, otherwise I would have not seen. Once you see them, then they stand out!!! I will do my best to explain where to look.

Directions:
From Hwy 183, get to Green Valley Drive on west side (north of Hwy 183 and Hwy 183A split). Turn onto Green Valley Dr, then park immediately on left in grass area parking.

To the Letterbox and Tracks:
Walk across Green Valley Dr, and righ toward Hwy 183. Turn left on dirt pathway going to river. Eventually see trail and get on it and go to River. Go left and follow path up river. Soon you will be on River bed, then back on pathway. Pass Cave in area on left. Soon river will sweep to the right. Here on river bed shelf (not in river) you will find the tracks go your direction and a little left). For Letterbox, after tracks, turn back and go to the cave in area(see big deck on ledge above it). At first big boulder on flat area, go to right of it and on to long flat topped rock. Go right and up hill to 2nd ledge, then right on ledge until even with original boulder below. Look left for large rock. Box is on top back of this rock under a rock pile.

Hike length: 1 mile
