Did some box maintance on 4/5/09, all boxes are there and in good shape. Thank you to the person or persons who did some maintance on some of the boxes for us before we had a chance to do so.

To get to the Braemore Add On's you need to go to the Braemore Preserve in Guilford, Ct. The Preserve is right on route 77 in Guilford and directly across from Bluff Head Farm. If you are coming from the south it's about one mile north of Lake Quonnipaug. Parking for the preserve is on the east side of route 77.
If you haven't done the Wildlife Series at Braemore Preserve be sure to bring them with you. Our boxes start with the last one of the Wildlife Series.
We really enjoyed the series and took the liberty to add a few more critters to the hike. To find the new kids in the woods you need to start at the sitting tree. From there you will follow the Red Trail in a North Westerly direction. At the four sister swamp maple with the Red Trail Blaze go to the North side and beneath a trapdoor you will find your little chipping friend. Stamp in and then continue on the Red Trail along the stonewall. Go up a small scramble, it will level off and then up you go again. When you are almost to the top you will see a tree between two rock right on the trail and up ahead a red blazed tree. At the tree between the two rocks go about three feet forward and look to your right in a crevase for your wise old friend. When you finish there, continue on the Red Blazed Trail going downhill. You will stay on the solid Red Trail bearing left. You will start to climb and when you are almost to the top you will see a double blazed tree that curves to the right and then to the left right alongside the trail. At that tree go forward five paces and then go South at 170 degrees to the rock pile. Our smelly friend is directly ahead under a rock. We must have just missed him because the air was full of his distinctive odor. After taking care of the country kitty go back out to the trail and continue over the top and then down over some quartz. Keep following the trail up and over a rocky area and through some laurels. When you come the intersection of four trails stay on the blue with red dot to the right. When you head down the trail look to your left and you will see a snarly red cherry tree that appears to be growing right out of the rocks. The trail should be taking about a 90 degree turn at that point. Mr Knows Everyones Business is hiding in the roots. Stamp in and continue down the trail. At the bottom of the hill you will see a stump on the right, a sister stump on the left across from a large rock and a blazed tree right there. At that blazed tree take a reading of 132 degrees Southeast. Bushwack up the hill to the Bears den in the rock face. Bear's den is below a large red oak which will be on the left side. If you make it to the oak you went too far. Stamp in and head back down to the trail. Follow it out to the fork. Follow the yellow triangle trail on the left back to the parking area. We checked all of these boxes on 10/29/04 and they were all there and in good condition.
