Clackamas Town Center once boasted a carasouel museum. It was great fun for the kids with a working carasouel, miniature train, child sized ferris wheel and lots of paintings and carasouel animals in various stages of completion. I wanted to plant this box near it, but couldnt' find anyplace that it was likely to survive for more than 30 seconds. So it was placed in a park relatively nearby. The first trick is to find the park.

The web site featuring it says... "The park covers 45 acres of fields, waterways and groves of mature oak trees. The property is owned by the City of Milwaukie and managed and maintained by the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District. Park Features: Rentable areas in _____ _________ ______ include two shaded picnic areas, a covered picnic shelter (capacity: 200), a softball field and fenced horse arena. The park is bounded to the north and west by restored natural habitat along Kellogg Creek. A sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, ball diamonds, fenced dog run and a large open meadow otherwise complete the site plan. "

Now that you know where the park is, you do know don't you? You need to find the box. Park near the shelter, just to the right of the entrance. Set out on foot into the field. Count three trolls hideouts to your left. Bee Bop along while humming the carasouel song in your head. In the distance is a group of one with it's roots showing badly and one with only half a trunk. From here, take 5 steps to the right. In front of you is a with a nice hollow spot. The box is in the hollow place. Be sure to cover it back up carefully and be discreet when pulling and replacing.

Stay to enjoy a picnic, watch the horses work in the arena, the dogs play in the dog park, or a baseball game!

Happy Hunting
