This is an extremely easy hike that kids of all ages can enjoy. This trail is also a bike trail. Take 22 to 403N. While on 403 you will see the signs for Dilltown and Ghost Town Trail. After a mile you will run into Dilltown Station that is the trail head equipped with picnic tables, grill and facilities. Across the street is the Dillweed Trailside Shop. Also local is a bike rental store.
Travel east across the street on the Ghost Town Trail. You will go over a bridge that covers Mardis Run.
Pass Bench # 1 on right and marker 30 on left.
Notice the pine tree farm on your right.
At the bench marked- In Memory of Elsa J. Vanaslow who loved to hike take a seat and enjoy the water, but watch the prickly bushes.
As you are appreciating the beauty of southwestern PA, look to the left. A moss-covered railroad tie is crossed over by a dead tree limb.
At the place of connection you can search for the letterbox covered by a large rectangular rock and leaves.
