Waterfalls Four--Steep climb and icy in winter. People with young children don't try this trail.
Indian Well State Park
Trail Head Directions
From the intersection of Route 8 and Route 110 in Shelton, head 2.4 miles north on route 110. The road will come to a fork with 110 going to the left. You should go the right. There is also a sign at the intersection for Indian Well State Park. After .4 miles down the road there is a parking area on the right. Park here.
Clues
From the parking lot cross the street to the trail signs. Stay on the road and cross the fieldstone bridge. At the other end of the bridge jump over the guard rail to the blue blazed trail heading up the hill. Continue up until you come to a dead evergreen tree paralleling the trail on the left. Stop here and notice a double blazed tree just ahead. Five or so steps past this tree turn left and down the embankment to overlook Indian Well Falls. Now head up stream and stop at a boulder covered with moss on the left. Stop here and see a sign that says “End of State Park Thank you”. The Indian Well Falls Letterbox is under the front lip of a very large flat rock on the hillside.
