The box was checked on 6/23/2009 and was in good condition.

Is there more to see at the Leaburg Dam than Waterboard Park? Why sure! You can spend big money and see prehistoric animals (sturgeon) at the fish hatchery. Just turn right after crossing the dam which is located on highway 126 a little past mile post 23.

AND TO THE BOX. Start at the Viewing Pond parking and the picnic shelter. Then go pet the big sturgeon. Find the fish food dispenser and spend your quarters. Stroll around the viewing pond, throwing food to the fish. When finished there go to the rearing ponds and backwards count from twelve to one before you turn to the river and find the scales that all good fishermen use. You can also read how the dam was built.

Look for the viewing deck and go to it. The water comes down with a thundering roar. Next, walk uphill to go downstream until you find the faint Feb. 6, 1996 flood line. The box was placed three paces left of there and under a railroad tie. Please be aware of watchful eyes and hide the box under the ties better than you found it.

The handmade stamp of a sturgeon is rather large at 2 3/8" by 2". Use any color, but green or blue is a good choice.

So to all Letterboxers; we hope you have a chance to find this one and that you will enjoy it.
