We checked on this box on 7-21-04, and it was missing. Some maintenance was being done on the area, and the box was probably either burned or thrown away. I plan to re-carve the stamp sometime and replace the box.

Difficulty: Easy once you solve the mystery. Involves walking on a paved, level path. Wheelchair and stroller accessible, except for actually getting the box.

Clues: To find this box you must first seek a town in southeastern Idaho named after a Native American tribe that lives in Montana and Canada. From the interstate highway, head east and turn left at the first intersection. Follow the road to a group of trees belonging to "Jen's sons".

This is called the "Missing Lake" mystery box because the lake is empty during part of the year.

Go to the picnic shelter farthest from the lake. There is a paved path to the left of the shelter. Walk on this trail until you reach the #9 marker and the 1 1/2 mile National Guard sign (You don't actually have to walk 1 1/2 miles). From the marker, take 18 regular-sized paces to the west. To your right is a fallen log surrounded by small Russian olive trees. The box is under this log, hidden by sticks and a small pink and grey rock.

There are some thistle-type plants near the log, so it's best to wear gloves. Be sure you re-hide the box where you found it, and put the pink rock back in front of it. The hiding spot is visible from the path, so make sure you're discreet. Have fun!
