THE TURTLE WALK LETTERBOX
A new and improved stamp has been carved for this box, thanks to Purl Girl's Dad, Tai Chi. Thanks Dad!
Clues:
Locate the largest lake within the city limits of Bloomington, Indiana. The road that cuts the lake into 2 halves has a turn off for Indiana University’s Research and Teaching Preserve just south of the lake. You can park there, where you will find two trail heads. Take the one to the North. Take the first trail that intersects this one and heads East. You will reach a point in the trail where you have to cross the same road that brought you to the preserve. Immediately after crossing this road, walk 120 paces and you will come to 18 wooden steps that lead partially down a ravine. At the bottom of these steps, before climbing the next set of steps leading back up the ravine, STOP. To the south of this spot, you will see, about 5 paces further down in the ravine, a clump of fallen dead trees. Behind them, hidden under the trees and under a stash of leaves, is the letterbox. Please be careful and check the spot for snakes before reaching in.
