Planted: 1/24/04 for the Kernville Letterbox Gathering
Note: As of Oct 5, 2015 the 2 marker boulders have walked off or have been used as part of the boulder barricade at the street side entrance. Stay tuned for new box location. This has always been one of my favorite box locations due to the proximity to the river.
Via boat: Below the island and the power lines that cross the river on the Lickity Split River Run, before Ewing's rapid, paddle over to river right and pull boat up on the shore. You will be across the river from a campground. The walk to the box is short, just a stretch of the legs. Follow the slight boulder path up towards the dirt road. There is an asphalt road just above the start of the dirt road. Look for the fenced maintenance yard across the asphalt road.to v erify your location. Veer to the left on the dirt road just 12 or so steps towards the first solitary cottonwood tree on your left. Across from the tree are ( NEW CLUES COMING).
Event Stamp box.Via land: The really easy way to the box by driving or walking from town about at ½ mile (1 way) from Circle and Riverside Parks. If you are driving, walking or strolling with kids and pets, find Siretta Street near Mountain River Adventures, then turn right on Scodie and go to the curve at Rio Vista across from the Maintenance Yard. It is a hot walk in the summer so bring water! Stop and walk down to the dirt parking area and dirt road turning right towards the solitary cottonwood tree just past the street entrance. There may be a metal chain blocking the street from the small parking area and dirt road. NEW CLUES COMING.
