Kirby is a happy fellow. In fact his spirits are so light they have lifted him to the clouds! Kirby looks forward to your visit. In fact, if you have a traveling friend with you that needs a place to stay, well Kirby is a great host! To locate Kirby's abode, look for the large stone mansion (the Ames Mansion) when you enter the park.. Begin your search for Kirby at the front door of the Ames Mansion -- a good place to start any visit. Facing the front door, take the path to the LEFT (NE). If you like, read the information sign that will now be on the right to learn more about the Ames family. Take your first RIGHT which leads down the stairs. Follow the steps down to a gravel path. Follow the path under the arbor and down some more steps. READ the information sign near the bottom of the steps. Now continue down the steps into the swimming pool!

Standing in the middle of the pool, see the steps leading up to the SOUTH. (The mansion is to your right, to the west). Climb up those steps. Facing SOUTH, see a boulder in a stone wall straight in front of you. Walk to the boulder.

Follow along the stone wall to the WEST until you get to its corner, where the wall turns SOUTH. Standing at the corner, note some extremely gnarled dead branches along the wall. Walk about 7 steps SOUTH along the wall (and next to the gnarled branches).

Turn LEFT so you are facing the stone wall. One of the gnarled branches that is resting on the wall forms an elbow pointing to 200 degrees. Below the elbow is a rock and under the rock’s easterly edge your will find the box. (A smaller stone and piece of bark help hide the box from view).

Can’t find it? Look for the metal tee/basket for Frisbee golf marked #13. From there, cite the portion of the stone wall at 70 degrees and then look for that elbow branch.

PLEASE make sure Kirby is completely hidden from view when you re-hide him! Add a piece of bark or leaves if necessary. THANKS!

To continue to the next box, follow the stone wall eastward to a trail.

After stamping in at Kirby and the Clouds, follow the stone wall around to the East where it will meet up with a path. Follow the path and you will soon intersect with the with the Pond Walk. Turn Right (Eastward) onto the Pond Walk. Follow the Pond Walk until you see the sign for the Quiet Woods Trail on the Left. Turn Left onto the Quiet Woods Trail. About 32 steps in, look for a clearing on the Left with pine needles and lots of good boulder seats. On the North side of the clearing (the right side if you have your back to the Quiet Woods Trail), look for rock near a tree with 2 Lichen circles, each about 8 inches in diameter. This lichen rock is about 2 feet west of a tree. Leaning against the south side of this tree is a large rock with a smaller flat one on its west side. Waddle Dee is waiting for you under this large rock near the tree. Move the smaller flat stone for easy access. Please rehide carefully, putting the smaller flat rock so that it hides Waddle Dee from view. Thanks!

To continue to the next box, return to the Pond Walk.

TERRAIN: Easy level walk, though Pond Edge Trail has lots of exposed roots.

From the intersection of the Pond Walk and the Quiet Woods Trail, continue on East on the Pond Walk. When you reach the large, Leach Pond, turn Left only Pond Edge Trail. Follow this trail until you reach a clearing. Notice a skinny bench that seems a little too high. Sit down and gaze out at the pond (N). Notice a group of 3-4 cedars to your Right, about 8 steps from the bench. Walk over and find Adeleine hidden by rocks and bark. After stamping in, please re-pile rocks and bark so she is well hidden. Thanks!

To continue to the next box, cross the clearing westward and continue on the Pond Edge Trail.

TERRAIN: Fairly easy walk, though Pond Edge Trail has lots of roots and West Side Trail has a moderate, easy incline.

Walk westward along the Pond Edge Trail until you reach the Lodge building. Just past the Lodge is an intersection. Turn Right (N), onto the Pond Walk so you are continuing to walk alongside Leach Pond. Take a Left onto the West Side Trail. Notice where the trail bends and there is a huge boulder rock outcrop on the Right (N) side of the trail. About 30 steps further along the trail, and on the Right (N) side, look for a boulder that has a tree growing horizontally from it toward the trail. The tree grows toward the trail about 15 feet, then shoots up to the sky. Go behind this boulder (its N side) and look for good size crack. the box is in the crack, covered with a couple of sticks. After you stamp in, please rehide well so it is not in plain site. Thanks!

To continue to the last box of the series, return to the West Side Trail and continue in the directions you were going.

From King Dedede's box, continue on the West Side Trail in a NW direction. Shortly you will cross a small stream using a wooden platform (stream may dry up at times). Continue on, now up hill, and look for the sign for the French Trail. It will be on your Right (N). Opposite the French Trail entrance see a large boulder. A fissure divides it in two pieces. Follow the fissure over the top of the rock to the side away from the trail (South side of rock). The crack opens up near the ground. There you will find Ribbon the Fairy - we've placed some smaller rocks on the fissure to hide the box from view. After stamping in, please rehide well so that it cannot be plainly seen.
Return to the West Side Trail and continue on in the same directions (West). When you come to an intersection with another path, bear Left or South to
end up at the Visitor Center and the Parking Lot! We hope you've enjoyed your walk.
