Clues:

Go North on Route 11 approximately 12.5 miles from Portage Hills Country Club. Hedgehog Mountain is on the left at the first rest area. Or coming South from Eagle Lake on Route 11 approximately 7.5 miles. Hedgehog Mountain is on your right at the rest area. Park at the rest area.

Clues:

On the left side of the Rest Area find the trail sign and follow the trail. Please stay on marked trail there are drop off ledges. Go past the well cover and go up the trail. You will come upon 2 old cabins. Keep going. Go past the blown down tree with the middle cut out for a step in the trail. This is a good place to take a rest and catch your breath. Follow the markers that are on the trees. Stay on the trail. Your almost to the top when you see to your left a rock face after the steep enbankment.

When you hit the peak of the mountain look for a gold survey marker. Follow the trail beyond the marker. The prize you seek is in the hole in the ground.

While you are here enjoy the view. You have Portage Lake on the left and Saint Froid Lake on the right. This is especially beautiful in the fall with all the foliage.
