Start at the Michigan Avenue bridge. On the stairs half way down to the Wendella Boat Landing you will find an entrance to the Chicago Underground.
From the portal, continue in this direction for two short blocks to a place for something to eat, something to eat, something to eat and drink.
Leaving there with a full belly to sustain you on your hike, look to the left for a nearby staircase. Stand on the stairs, facing down the staircase, and walk in this direction. Continue on and over the bridge.
After you have crossed the bridge, look to your left for a passage which starts between 111 and 333. After one block, look for a door slightly to the left, which will take you down some stairs, across a hall and out onto a platform. At the end of the platform, go up a ramp up to a waiting area. Cross the hall to the south shore. From that platform, look to the left for a ramp down to a door that exits to the street.
Follow that colonnade on the lefthand sidewalk all the way to its end where you will find the box hidden in a space at the base of the penultimate pillar behind a secret brick.
A few caveats: Please remember that this is an urban letterbox. Be alert and aware of your surroundings. Also, be very discrete in your search for the letterbox. You will be under camera surveillance at times, so do not give away what you are up to or reveal the secret! Once you find the box you should leave the immediate area to stamp the logbook. When you leave, make sure the box is well-hid so that passersby and nosy security guards will never see it.
Good luck!
