Clues: EASY
Terrain: Level, but rocky in some spots. Some off trail walking is involved.
Time: Can be done in 30 min...if you run. But I think you may prefer to stroll.
Follow Rt 20 West, past Westfield about 18 miles, until you come to the center of Chester...don't blink. From here, turn right onto Middlefield Road and follow this road 2.4 miles until you see a small dirt road pull-off, on the left. Park here. Follow the dirt road North. Soon you will cross a small metal bridge over a nice little waterfall area, then a small clearing. If you walk over to the river's edge on the left, and look left, you can see the famous "ARCHES". These are designated as historical sites. There are 2 more up river. Back to the trail. Follow the road. You may see people fishing.. this is a great fishing spot. Or you may want to jump in.. this is a great place for the adventurous to play in the water. The road will bend sharply left, and you should contine to follow until it splits into two. Continue to follow the blue blazes to the right. Have you noticed you've been following them all along? When you see the high stone wall on the left, follow it up the hill, staying on the south side. Nearing the top, first you'll see a young hemlock, then a grove of older Hemlocks. You'll find Bambi at the base of the wall, between these hemlocks...about 2 steps west from the closest tree to the wall.
There's a pointy rock...telling secrets. I hope no one's home was distrurbed. Tell me what you think Bambi is looking for.. and tell me how he is! Return to your car the way you came.
