The following message from a finder was returned "Found the box, still nestled in its spot in the tree. The box has been chewed by some critter, but wrapped in plastic and is still dry. -Boots Tex and Lone Star Quilter" --Choi, one of the LbNA Webmasters, 12/16/06]

This letter box is found in Memorial Park in Uvalde on the Leona River. It is a pretty little park with lots of trees, a playground, picnic tables and a paved fitness trail with exercise stations along the way.

To find this park, coming south on Hwy 83 (one of the 2 longest highways in the nation) from Garner State Park, turn left (east) onto Hwy 90 (the second longest highway in the nation). A couple of blocks down on your right, just past HEB and just before the Leona River bridge, you will turn right going between stone pillars marking the entrance to Memorial Park.

Park and locate the fitness trail. Follow this trail, taking time to do the exercises if you wish, find station #5 (sit ups). You will find the microbox 100 steps north of this sign in a hole about shoulder high on the east side of the "dead wood". Please cover well, and don't let the box recede too far into the hole.
