My husband and I planted this box in commemoration of our first appointment. We moved here two years ago and have grown to love the area. On the way to our first home the first time, we crossed a railroad track and the view beside this track in the spring and early fall is one we will always remember! Our son was only 4 months when we moved in and our daughter was born here a year later. Because the babies are so close together we often pull them along behind us in their wagon which is much easier to navigate than a double stroller! As I said this box commemorates our first appointment - it signifies all the things that we have come to appreciate and love in our two years here... alas now it is time for us to move on... look for more boxes in our appointment series in the years to come.

Take Hwy 17 into Elizabeth City, NC. There is a stoplight just inside the southern city limits at Forest Park Road. Turn onto Forest Park Road and procede about a city block until you come to the Miller Bottling and Distributing Center. There are two drives once you cross the railroad tracks. Take the drive to the right. Before you pass the "Visitors Must Sign In" posting you will see a small support bridge for the tracks on the right. At the base of the tracks, to the right of the bridge, at the foot of the hill you will find the "All Aboard" letterbox hidden in the brambles. Be mindful of thorns and briars. Because this box is just off of business property you may want to go after regular business hours in order to avoid too much interruption.
