Head to the United State's northeastern-most corner to see beautiful countryside and moose. Enjoy the trip up I-95 until it simply . . . stops at US Route 1. Turn north onto Route 1. Only another hour's drive to go!

Before you head up Route 1, stop at the tourist information center in Houlton for a brochure on the world's largest scale model of the solar system. Pick out the planets as you drive north. Be sure to stop at Saturn, as there is a letterbox at the planet's site.

Continue to drive north, past Aroostook State Park (where there are other letterboxes to check out), through Presque Isle and onto Maine's Coolest City, Caribou. 3.5 miles north of the Caribou Historical Society, you will come to a stop light. Go straight through the stop light for 1/2 mile, get into the center turn lane. Turn left onto HIGH STREET. Look for the Old Iron Inn B&B, the 5th house on your left. There is a large coffee grinder in the front yard. The letterbox is on the shelf below the hopper. You can check out the Old Iron Inn at www.oldironinn.com.

Congratulations and welcome to Caribou!
