The Location This box is located at the Glenn Cunningham reservoir north of Omaha, aka Lake Cunningham City Park. It is located near the 72nd St exit off I-680. It is best known as a sailing lake, but there is also a campground, disc golf course, and a shoddy rec trail. Cunningham could be called my "home park". Along the route the box, you will pass the places where my family and I biked, fished, launched rafts, etc. It is fitting location for my first hidden letterbox. You will need to walk roughly 1.5 mi (2.5 km) round trip. You'll want to enter the park by turning west on Rainwood Rd off 72nd Street. Drive past the campground entrance and continue on Rainwood until you come to the lake. Bear right and follow this road as it twists and turns until ends in a small loop. Park. (Just a minor note - The mansion on top of the hill belongs to Walter Scott, one of Omaha's richest citizens. His name is on so many buildings, like the Walter & Suzanne Scott Aquarium at the zoo.) Begin by travelling west on the trail. Stay on the trail until you come to the spot where you walk over water (it's a ways) while enjoying views of Scott's mansion. Backtrack a few steps and stand in the square in the trail. Shoot a bearing of 90. The letterbox lies on this line. A path should take you near. The chipmunk burrowed under the clothes of the first tall, straight, naked one. NOTE - The tall, straight, naked one fell in a recent wind storm, but he's just lying there now. But I recovered the box in the same spot. Please rehide well (assuming you found it) so the box cannot be seen from the path. Email me at cwb4jcrl@softhome.net when you find it or for any questions.
