This is a easy letterbox. Around a 1/2 hour walk This is a kid and dog friendly area.
Start at the parking lot at the Carlisle Town Hall. The Carlisle Town Hall is at 66 Westford Street (Rte 225), Carlisle, MA. It is a large yellow wooden building, set back from the road. It is near the rotary at the center of town and next door to the fire station.
C ome to Carlisle for the Castle Rock Letterbox!
A t the farthest end of the Town Hall parking lot,
S tand with your back to the building and look left. A
T rail entrance you should spy – Look hard.
L o! There it is! Quickly you face a choice. Make the right one.
E ver so soon the path turns
R ight into the woods.
O h, but you aren’t really in the woods yet, To the right
C an you make out the police station amongst the houses?
K eep going, the trail curves left and you should see a
L ittle pond on your right. Onward. You come to a stream. Over you go.
E veryone should spot the next stonewall. Pass right through.
T empted next by a trail to the right? Don’t be.
T rail sign at a fork – your next clue! Follow toward the box’s namesake.
E eeek! The trail climbs steeply. About 100 paces on some large
R ocks cross your path. Over and round to the left goes the trail. 100 paces look!
B irch trees, 3 huddled together off to the right. Tromp in and have a closer look.
O n the left of that little group, say 6 paces, an odd tree you should see.
X citing! at the base of this strange tree is your treasure.
