These Letterboxes were placed to celebrate 100 years of Horse and Dog races at Anthony Downs. Races started in July of 1904. Check out the website above for Race dates, bring a blanket to sit on and have a good time!
If coming into town on hwy 14 take the first street on you left which is Garfield, proceed East to Jennings St. If coming into town from the South on hwy 179 you are on Jennings St when you hit town, proceed North to Garfield St.
From Garfield and Jennings proceed North one block to E. Sherman St.,
take a right, proceed three and one half blocks. Park in front of the white ticket booth behind the grandstands.
Buc's Horsin Around
Proceed directly South about 200 yards to a grove of small trees in the fenceline. Inside these trees you will find a concrete footing of an old building. At the Northwest corner of the footing there is a 15 inch tall stump with a rock on it. The box is under some dead bark inside the stump. Please cover when you leave. Hand Carved Stamp!
Buc's Dog Days-REPORTED MISSING
From the ticket booth proceed West past the dog cages but stop before you get to a small brown building. Look to the South and you will see an electic pole at about 30-50 Ft. Just West of the electic pole is a small evergreen inside a larger tree. The box is under the evergreen covered with dead grass. Please cover well when you leave. Hand Carved Stamp!
