[Admin Note: This trail may not be suitable for groups that include small children. There are reported to be a lot of Satanic type spray paint (ie."666", "hail to Satan", etc.) on the trees and rocks.]
Note: A new logbook was added on 9/6/05
This box is located on Lawrence Island, which is actually not an island, but a peninsula.
To reach the island, take Scraggy Neck rd. to Grasslands ln. and park at the end of the road.
Follow the path along the edge of the harbor until you come to a plank bridge over a small stream. Cross the bridge and turn left. You can circle the island in either direction, but the path you need to find is closer if you go to the right side (along the ocean).
You will come to a cluster of large rocks, and will see a path leading up onto the forested hill.
Climb the path and you will find a clearing with a firepit.
Walk to the west, and you should be able to find two trees standing about 6 feet apart, one an oak and the other a pine. Both trees have a small board nailed to the west side of their trunk, about a foot off the ground.
Sight to the west between these two trees, and you should notice a small evergreen.
The box is at the base of this tree, under two large rocks.
