Aug 10, 2011: this 'box had been reported missing twice over the past 2 years with no confirmed finds over that time. It's probably missing.

Difficulty: Easy, short hike on dirt trails, very modest grade.
Fee: One must pay $20 for a 7-day pass to the Teatons which includes the "BIG" park to its north.

The big, beautiful mountains in the Tetons are spectacular and one cannot go anywhere without a beautiful view. Driving up to a particularly picturesque site on a cold morning with a steamy thermos of coffee is the ultimate pleasure.

Clues: Find the Jackson Point overlook on Signal Mountain 3 1/2 miles south of the Jackson Lake junction. (You'll get a map of the area when you pay your park fee.) Park in the lot where it tells you that the overlook is 200 feet ahead and follow that sign. You'll come to an "Early Photographers" sign and just past it is a small, metal sign pointing to the "campgrounds" 3 miles down the path. Follow that trail and stay on the north fork.

As you enter the shady, treed area, count 100 steps. Find a 9 inch fallen log, lying perpendicular to the trail. The box is 4 feet up from the end of the log between two rocks which lye on either side of it.
