Difficulty: 1/2 mile easy hike. Loose, gravely rock near the falls.
Fee: $20 for park pass, good for 7 days.

Wraith Falls is just outside the "Mammoth" area in "America's first park". When you enter the park and pay your fee, you'll be given a map to find such places.

During this time of the year, the wildflowers are spectacular. There were even roses growing at the falls overlook point. I'd say the flowers were the highlight of the hike rather than the falls. This hand-carved stamp was inspired by the moose we'd hoped to see while in this area. Unfortunately, we saw none but we can pretend they were watching us.

Clues: This climb to the observation deck for the falls had recently been reconstructed and upgraded (summer 2010) Enjoy the view! Then, go back down the trail to the 14th terrace step (not counting the stairs right at the deck). On your left, you'll se a fallen log parallel to the trail. The box is on the uphill side, under a rock.
