The 2.6 mile roundtrip hike to this letterbox is hot and dry, through amazing scenery. Don't forget sunscreen and water. The compass heading is magnetic. There is also a hidden bonus in this park:

To the trailhead: from I-25 between Albuquerque and Santa Fe take either exit 264 or 259 to Cochiti Pueblo. From there, follow the signs to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks N.M. Four and a half miles past the entry gate is a parking area for the trailhead.

To the letterbox:
Shun the cave, a canyon calls.
Pass through pines, volcanic walls.

At trail's end a lone pine stands.
Hold a compass in your hands.

Beside the trail at fifteen degrees,
Topless pine among healthy trees.

At this snag a path goes right,
Pinon by juniper, a welcome sight.

At juniper's feet, a pair of rocks.
Lift them up... a letterbox!
