Clues adopted by the Drew Family of East Lyme until Dr. Mings claims them. Sorry, but we have never visited the letterbox.

*Reported not found on July 6 2002 from flooding.
*Again reported not found on May 4, 2004 by Solor & Binx.
*Update January 2005 from Catster: << Here's what I found:
At the place noted (#2 on the trail) there are three trees, and they are cypress trees, not mangroves. One is just before the little pull-off, one just at it, and one just beyond it. The middle tree - which I think Dr. Mings might have meant as the second one - is a big tree, leaning out over the water, that has many "trunks" coming straight out of the main trunk. This forms a hollow inside, a perfect hiding place and what I'm sure Dr. Mings used for his original box. Had he meant the third tree, it is
rather small and is now almost down in the water and impossible to reach. So, I used the middle tree and dropped the box into the hollow. The very end of the box can be seen if you are tall, lean way out over the tree, and know where to look. You can reach in for it if you are very brave. :-)

Note: This area is a GREAT nature preserve - I saw eagles, roseate spoonbills, ducks galore, snake bird, armadillo, etc. Unfortunately, the #2 trail site of the box is #2 of 12, and a VERY, very, very long drive. Tourists were stacked up 6 deep ahead of me, and at 5 mph, the 7-mile
trail went by VERY slowly. This is not a quick-and-easy. Does it count as the "same" letterbox if the book, stamp and even the placement might not be the same as original? I leave that up to you guys.>>>

Thank you, C@!

Florida Fish Series Letterboxes - Titusville, FL
CLUES:
For this letterbox, take I-95 and get off on exit 80 (which is state road 406) and head east into Titusville. Continue through town and cross the Indian River bridge. From here you will continue on east on 406 to the directions for Seabass.

Sea Bass

This box is located in a totally cool park called the "Black Point Wildlife Drive". It is a salt marsh preserve that houses abundant wildlife (especially birds and fish). While there recently, I saw an Otter, Alligator, Bald Eagle, and about a zillion species of birds. You will want to bring your camera and binoculars. In the winter, hundreds of thousands of migratory birds can be seen. The park is a 7 mile drive (and an optional hiking path within) down a narrow dirt road through the salt marshes. To get there, first find the Squirrelfish box as described above and then get back on 406 continuing to head east into the Kennedy Space Center property, which is called the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. A mile or so down the road you will see a fork and will need to turn off to the left side of the fork following the signs that say "Black Point Wildlife Drive". After you do this you should continue down that road. You will cross some railroad tracks and eventually come to the entrance to the "Black Point Wildlife Drive" on your left. Drive into the park and pick up a pamphlet from the box shortly after you enter. It will tell you much about the park. The dirt road is one way so you have to plan on driving the whole 7 miles through the park. At marker 1 (see the pamphlet) you can likely stop and see Bald Eagle nests. At marker 2 you stop and pull off to your left side. Across the dirt road on the other side you will see a couple of scrubby trees which are likely mangroves or something similar. In the second one (continuing the direction of the road) you should find the Sea Bass box. Please place it back where it was hidden in the tree.
