Greetings -

I just found out that someone has taken this letterbox (4.22.10)! Such a sadness!!! Anyway, this is a lovely spot to visit on the island so I'm hesitant to delete the entry. There is no letterbox here but I hope you do visit...perhaps one day I'll be back on the island and can put a new box out. I live in Seattle so I'm not sure when I'll be returning!

There is an angel waiting to be discovered on beautiful Block Island. Follow these steps to discover her hiding place:

1) At the steps of the National Hotel start your odometer. You will be traveling a total of 3.3 miles to reach the angel.
2) Travel on the main road with the National Hotel on your left.
3) Round the corner toward Corn Neck Road.
4) Take a right at the stop sign on Corn Neck Road.
5) Continue on Corn Neck Road. Pass the Fred Benson Town Beach on your right.
6) You're on the right path...continue past Mitchell Farm (look for the friendly cow) on your right.
7) Pass the transfer station to your left...you're getting very close!
8) Slow down...when your odometer says 3.3 miles you should see some steps on the left side of the road with the words "The Sacred Labyrinth" written on the front.
9) There will be two parallel stone walls to your right a little further down. Park here and walk to the steps.
10) Go over the steps and follow the grassy path to the labyrinth.
11) The first angel will be waiting for you at the beginning of the labyrinth. Ponder life's great mysteries as you wind your way around.
12) When finished, look for the bench located next to a large tree - go under the bench & behind the rocks on the left you will find Grazia - The Second Angel of the Labyrinth - waiting for you.

This letterbox is dedicated to the memory of our daughter Grazia Reed Jett who lived and died all too soon.

Please let us know if she is not there...
