This box is #3 in our kids' series. It's hidden by a river where people like to camp, swim, and fish. Laurel, the closest "city," is a very small town, so I might have to say Connersville is the closest city.

Take highway 121, south if coming from Connersville. On my map of the state, 121 is a short highway going between Connersville and highway 52. Laurel is closer to 52 than to Connersville. Anyway, if you're going south, get into Laurel and turn left on Pearl St. There's also a sign, high and small, at that road that says "Haspin Acres." You'll pass "Laurel Hotel & Restaurant," which people go to from all around for the friend chicken and other smorgasboard goodies. Good eatin'! Then you'll cross a railroad track, and a bridge over the river. Just after the bridge, turn right onto a "no outlet" road. There's another sign there that says "Haspin Acres," and also one telling you that the Laurel Conservation Club is 4 miles down the road. On down the road, you'll cross two more sets of RR tracks. There'll be a handfull of houses on the lefthand side of the road. Shortly, there'll be a little place on the right side of the road to park. It's a little bit downhill from the road, and be careful of a hole in the drive pulling in. There's a little wooden footbridge there. Park, and then cross the bridge. To the right, there is a wooden sign that you can only read from the RR tracks up on the hill. (It says Jink's on the other side.) Just behind that sign, there's a rock wall, and four or five steps to the left of the sign, there's a loose rock propped up on that wall. Behind it is where you'll find the letterbox.

Feel free to go up the small hill and across the tracks at the top. What's on the other side is not a very big area, but there's a nice place to look at the river, another rock wall to sit on and relax. It's a good place for a picnic, and people take full advantage of this, complete with camping, fishing, and cooking out.

Please holler if you don't find what you're looking for. :)
