ALIVE & WELL with a new logbook AS OF 11/12/04
Clues:
Walking Distance: Approx 1 mile - round trip
Incline: Very minor to none
Kid Friendly: YES!
Dog Friendly: Yes! But please make sure your dog is dog friendly, not aggressive to other dogs and please make sure to clean up after your pet.

Getting There:
From C-470 westbound, take the exit that comes after Santa Fe and before Platte Canyon. This road is not marked. It is approximately 1 mile after the Santa Fe exit. You will have your own turn lane. Once you make the turn in, you will continue that turn to almost make a U-turn. You will follow this dirt road (you will be following C-470) to the parking lot. There are 2 lots. This place is VERY crowded on weekends, and parking is very limited.

While at this park, you may want to check out Oh Dear! and T-I-Double Guh-Er

Finding the Box:
Andi loved to go for walks in the park. Especially when it was by a river. You never know when your human might let you go for a swim. On this particular day, Andi was very excited. Her human was taking her to the no-leash excercise area. (this area was on the south side of C-470 and over the bridge to the right) Of course, this meant having to go through the dog training area... that meant Andi had to at least show she could heal and sit without her leash. Andi did this willingly and was awarded with the command "ok, go!". Andi took off down the walk. To her right was the river, but she knew is was a good drop down. Being a little dog, Andi chose not to jump. Besides, the human hadn't said swim time. As Andi followed the trail it curved to the right and then back to the left. On the left side of the trail Andi heard a noise. It seemed to be coming from the bunch of rocks on her left that went down the hill. She wondered what it was. Everyone knows a beagle has to know everything! Lining herself up, right in front of the rocks, she walked into the area and off the trail (those bushes can hurt paws!). Andi saw one rock in front of her and to the right that was actually on level ground - the sound seemed to be coming from there. She decided to put her nose to work and sniff around this rock and see if there was anything good. While sniffing around the back of this rock Andi found FIDO! Fido is a very timid dog and is quite afraid of humans. So, please, make sure to put Fido back and cover him up really good. We don't want just any old person to find Fido's hiding spot.
