The “Half Way There” Letterbox
By finding this box you will put yourself half way between the equator and the North Pole!
This box is located at the Arnold Way Rest Stop on the northbound side of Rt. 201, just above Solon.
Once you have found the rest stop, go to the last covered picnic table on the left. Stand with your back to the NE corner and take the path at 60 degrees. Taking 16 paces on this crooked path (you will have to go around the first big tree) you will come upon two fallen tree trunks. At the upper end of the tree trunk on the left is the prize you seek.
Either before or after you stamp up I would suggest a stop at the Apple Tree Bakery in Solon. Very tasty treats! We stopped at the general store and picked up lunch to have at the rest stop.
If you are so inclined, just up the road from the rest stop is a sign and a granite marker that designate the special nature of this location. If you choose to walk up and read the sign, please take extra caution as 201 is a busy road.
