Cordele, GA has distinguished itself by its agricultural heritage and its cash crop—-the watermelon. Crisp County is one of the top watermelon growing regions in the country and their melons are shipped nationwide. The big event held annually here is of course the Watermelon Festival, held the week of July 4th.
Cordele is also right on I-75. Take exit 99 to the center of town. Right across from the police department on GA-41 is Watermelon Park. The prominent sign and watermelon fountain let you know you are in the right place.
The letterbox is located in the center of the larger of the two bushes that are closest to the base of the Watermelon Park sign. Replace carefully and get yourself some watermelon!
