Believe it or not, Southwest Harbor has a Flamingo Festival each summer. The man who invented the pink plastic flamingo (see the native sons series in MA) comes for the weekend. There are activities, entertainment and a parade. The Harbor House Explorer Campers had a float in the parade, all decorated with flamingos, and the hula-skirted flamingo became their mascot for the summer. "Clap-diddly-o-so" is a clapping game that the campers have enjoyed during waiting times all summer. The two together became ~

CLAP-DIDDLY-O-SO, THE FESTIVAL FLAMINGO by M.E.M

Clap-diddly-o-so, clap, clap, clap....

Walk to the ball field near Pemetic School

Continue on towards Harbor House Children's Center
At the three rocks jump up and down, continue towards the Children's Center
Look towards the woods across from the seagulls.
Walk quietly to the woods.
