climb green mt., a pretty hike of about a mile and a half,either up the gentle service road which my 4 and 6 year olds managed happily or up the steeper side which trail begins just beyond the Lakeview rehab . follow signs(obscure) to either trail head.upon reaching the tower climb it, if you like, to meet a great old timer who still keeps watch for fires. this is one of the last manned fire towers in the country!to find the box, stand facing the ladder up the tower,from the frount right leg walk 12 steps toward a tall stump keeping the tower to your left. under the base of the fallen TRUNK you will find a hand carved stamp and directions to use it. im sorry it is so difficult!
