Back in place with new logbook as of 9/5/2006. Reported as possibly missing 7/2009.
This box is hidden near the eastbound Gold Creek rest area on I-90. Start by reading the sign there regarding the first discovery of gold in Montana. When you're finished, turn around, cross the parking lot & pass through the fence. Once through the fence follow the path towards the river for about 40 paces. Stop & look to your left (east). At about 22 paces you'll see a broken up down log. Walk there & then continue on that path for another 20 paces to a large tan rock. Look left (in the direction of the parking lot.) About 4 paces away you'll see the root end of a down sapling. Look under it for an old prospector.
