We hope you will enjoy this letterbox; it's fairly easy along the coast by the Point Judith Lighthouse in Rhode Island. Use caution when the rocks are wet and watch out for the little black snake we found while placing the box. We decided that we’d place our very first letterbox where we had our first date. While you are here, see if you can find the Point Judith and Just Bass letterboxes as well!

Directions: Take Rt 1 South to Rt 108 South in Narragansett to the Point Judith Lighthouse. Park your car and enjoy the view! Walk through the chain link fence to the lighthouse. On your right you will see a whole bunch of aluminum racks that look like a "science experiment" of some sort.

With the lighthouse on your left, walk to the concrete wall and on to the rocky shore. Turn right. Go to the end of the wall and continue in that direction. The aluminum racks will still be on your right. Pass the racks and you'll notice various rock formations that others have left.

Continue the same direction; you'll pass a pond on your right. After the pond, take a path going up a little cliff that overlooks the rocky shore. You'll walk until you see big black rocks at the edge of the shore. Stop where the path ends at the rocky shore again.

To your left, you will see a large rock by itself that has a flat side facing the ocean. On your right by the grassy area, find a square grey rock. The First Date Letterbox is behind that rock under a couple of flat stones.

If you get the chance - please let us know the condition of the box and when you found it! (letterboxers@cox.net)

Have fun!

Ric & Marni

PS - Don't forget to bring your camera, because the view is fantastic! Also...while you're here, stop for Clam Cakes and Chowder at Aunt Carries and Dough Boys at Iggy's!
