Monkey Island Letterbox
Difficult Clues

To find the place where three boxes are hid, a math problem you must solve, so don't blow your lid.

A = distance in miles from intersection of runways at New Bedford Airport to boxes
B = distance in miles from intersection of Route 6 and Mattapoisett Neck Road to boxes

To find A and B in miles, solve the following equations:
4A + 8B = 53.07
6A + 9B = 66.22

It is best to go, when the tide is low.
Once you are there, of the poison ivy beware.

First Letterbox:
From the hurricane dike, to the north you must hike.
Cross the water when the tide is high, or better yet wait until it's dry.
Proceed along the eastern shore, rock outcroppings you will see 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Four too many, two too few, the one between is the one for you.
If you reach the Buddhist symbol, you've gone too far, turn around, climb a bit and there you are.
Atop the rock a pile you shall see, beneath are treasures placed there by me.

Second letterbox:
Continue you shall along the eastern shore, count the beaches, three no more.
Towards the lighthouse you shall walk, until you reach the rock outcrop.
Climb thee now the highest stone, soon the place of the stamps shall be known.
Face the lighthouse and on your left, holes in the rock form a cleft.
Under a pile of stones a box you will find, mark the book with your stamp I left behind.

Final letterbox:
Around the corner you shall go, follow the outgoing tide with the flow.
Along the western shore you walk, at the sight of the hurricane barrier you must balk.
On the left you'll see a grove of trees, you'll find five bricks near your knees.
Eight paces away in the grove you shall find, the stamp you seek to ease your mind.
It's under a red pail behind a small tree, now you have found it so shout with glee.
