6/12/06 - On a tip from a fellow letterboxer, we heard that our park is under construction. We checked it out today, and sure enough, the park is changing (sadly, for us). Please do not attempt to find the letterbox until we post new clues when the construction is done. Some of the landmarks we listed are gone, and we couldn't even get to the box today because of construction. Thank you.
~~Park Girls~~

My sister and I placed this letterbox (our first box placed) in Valley Creek Park because we grew up in the house in the park. We lived there from 1975-1991 (Our parents rented the house from the township). It was a great place to grow up, and we hope you enjoy the time you spend there looking for our "Park Girls" box.

-Valley Creek Park is on Route 29 - take Route 202 to the Rte. 29 north exit (Great Valley). Follow Rte. 29 for about a mile - the park will be on your right as you come up a hill.

-As you pull into the park, there will be a driveway on your right (with a sign that says "only vehicles for the handicapped"). This is where your clues will begin after you park your car in the lot on your left.

-Walk down the driveway, and turn right where animals are not allowed.

-Turn left and walk through the building with no walls.

-Take a detour for a ride on the Sea Creatures, or hang upside down like a monkey (we used to!).

-Follow the long path between the house with green shutters and the pole with no reason. Stop to roll down the hill if you like (just stop when you get dizzy!).

-Turn left off the path toward the red starry-eyed building.

-Once you reach the stars, look for greener pastures to your right. Get ready to climb! Keep the yellow bouncing balls to your left as you start up the hill.

-Make your way to higher ground. At the center/top of the hill (as you look up the hill from the barn/garage)there is a cluster of trees. At the back of the cluster is a tallish evergreen with 4 trunks. You will find the box where the trunks meet.
***Please note, I have been told in 7/05 that there is some poison ivy on the tree near the box...please be careful! (I haven't seen it myself yet)

-Please cover the box well when you are done.

Thanks for visiting "Our Park"!
